One 60-day cruise through the Land Down Under was terminated days after the death of an older female passenger who was stranded by the cruise liner on a isolated coastal location.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the cruise ship, but broke off from the party for a break. The liner left without her and went back later that day after the ship staff became aware the woman was not present.

A major hunt discovered her person the subsequent day.

Officials are investigating the tragedy, alongside police and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company stated that guests and personnel on the ship were informed that the continuation of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and prior technical problems".

The ship originally sailed from the Australian port on 24 October, and was only 48 hours into the voyage at the moment of the senior passenger's death. The tropical location was the opening port on the voyage.
