I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
